Sprint Triathlon Ohio Indoor Swim, Outdoor Bike and Run: All Ages

Join the Coffman YMCA and Milano’s as they host the Coffman YMCA Sprint Triathlon with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Strong Kids Campaign. This race is great for the novice but also challenging enough for the more seasoned triathlete. The triathlon will begin and end at the Coffman Y. 


Course Description
• Start with a 300 yd swim that will take place in the pool. It will be a
serpentine swim. Swimmers will enter pool according to estimate swim
time stated at time of registration. Transition will be through the back
of pool area to the back of the Y where the Bike Racks will be located.
• The 10 mile bike route will be through-out Springboro and surrounding
communities. There will be police along the route at critical traffic
points to direct /stop traffic for race participants. The bike route will
end behind the Y at the original swim-to-bike transition spot behind
YMCA.
• Finish with a 3.1 run through out Settler’s Walk. The route is flat and
smooth and will have volunteers along the route to direct
participants.


Awards
Timing and results provided by Speedy-Feet. Award Medal for everyone
who participates and crosses the finish line. Overall male and female. Age
Group-Awards for Overall male and female in age groups! 19-under,
20-29, 30-39,40-49,50-59 and 60+. All results and pictures will be

About the Ohio Games

The Ohio Games is an amateur sports festival promoting health, fitness and character building through multi-sport competitions and physical activities. As a member of the National Congress of State Games, the Ohio Games joins 30 other states in hosting an Olympic style Summer State Games event. State Games provide an opportunity for athletes of all ages, within the state, to compete in various sporting events and earn gold, silver and bronze in their respective age categories. All winners earn a spot in the National Games of America and compete for their state against winners in other states to become a National Champion.

Sprint Triathlon: Canoe, Run, Bike + Kids Run

Overview

The West Milton Triathlon is the event that started Speedy Feet.  It consists of a 3.5 mile canoe, a 5 mile run and ends with a 17 mile bike.  Most will race as a two person team, but there is a solo option for those who have their own kayak and want to race it on their own.  For teams, you can stay together throughout the race, or split up after the canoe segment.  Your place will be determined by your team time which is simply each teammate's individual time added together.  Solo participants compete based on individual times.  Solo participants will all start together.  Teams start 2 teams per minute starting at 8am with the starting order determined by the order teams register.

This event that serves as a fund-raiser for the Milton Union Cross Country program and the West Milton Volunteer Fire Company.

Kids Fun Run

A final activity as part of the post race is a kids run.  The kids run takes place at about 11:00 in the grassy area next to the registration shelter.  All kids will receive a past West Milton Triathlon medal for participation!

This is a Kids ONLY Triathlon for Youth Ages 5-14


Times

The event will start in heats based on age. 5-6 years of age will start first at 9am but all participants should be at the event and ready to go by 8:30am.

Race day registration will be available beginning at 7:30am.


Triathlon and Distances: (1k = .6 mile)
Ages 5-6: 50-meter swim, 2k bike and .5k run
Ages 7-10: 100-meter swim, 4k bike and 1k run
Ages 11-14: 200-meter swim, 8k bike and 2k run

USA Triathlon Mideast Multisport Regionals on June 28 at Cowan Lake State Park in Wilmington, Ohio

An official regional event co-sponsored by USA Triathlon! The Red, White and Zoom Triathlon Festival at Cowan Lake State Park on June 28 is host to the 2020 Mideast Regional Multisport Championship. That means that everyone who participates in the aquabike or aquathlon of any distance at the event is eligible for Mideast Regional Multisport Championship age group awards from USA Triathlon. You can be crowned the Mideast Regional Aquabike or Aquathlon Champ!

Note: You do not need to race in the Regional Championships to be a part of this race. 


Considered a hidden gem of the Ohio Parks, Cowan Lake State Park offers a unique challenge to racers, to tackle hills and flats on this scenic course. This is the only race in Ohio to offer triathlons, duathlons, aquabikes (swim bike only) and aquathlons (swim run only), in distances for all ages and abilities including beginner, sprint, olympic and 1/3 iron. There is a race for all ages and abilities. Everyone can celebrate their accomplishment with a cool finisher medal and lifestyle tee (in men's and women's cut), and party after the event with music, pizza, beer (we also have soda and water), family and friends! This is more than just a race, it's an experience!  You do not need to race in the Regional Championships to be a part of this race.

Springfield Family YMCA Kids Triathlon on July 25 at Splash Zone Waterpark in Springfield, Ohio

This is a Kid’s Triathlon with a swim, bike, and run, in that order.


This is a Kids ONLY Triathlon for Youth Ages 5-14


Triathlon participants begin with a swim at Splash Zone and then will transition to their bike and ride to Eagle City Soccer Complex via the bike path. After biking, participants will complete the event with a run on the grass fields to receive their well-deserved finisher’s medal!


Schedule

All participants should arrive at least 1 hour prior to their start time to check in, get race number, set up bike, and pick up t-shirt.

  • 8:00 AM Brief pre-race instructions for 4-6 year old competitors. The first wave will begin immediately following the instructions.
  • Approximately 8:45 AM Brief pre-race instructions for 7-8 year old competitors AFTER the
    last competitor in the previous race is finished. The first wave will begin immediately following the instructions.
  • Approximately 9:30 AM Brief pre-race instructions for 9-10 year old competitors AFTER
    the last competitor in the previous race is finished. The first wave will begin immediately following the instructions.
  • Approximately 10:20 AM Brief pre-race instructions for 11-14 year old competitors AFTER
    the last competitor in the previous race is finished. The first wave will begin immediately following the instructions.

Post-race drinks and snacks will be available for the competitors
Important Information:
Helmets are required
Set up running shoes, towel, and helmet prior to beginning the race
Parking will be available at Splash Zone or Eagle City Soccer Complex
In the event of rain, the event could be delayed up to 1.5 hours
Competitors should arrive at least 1 hour prior to their race time to check in and set up their bike, helmet and tennis shoes for running
Children are encouraged to transition and complete this race with little to no parent participation.

Overview

The Miamisburg Triathlon is a great way to close out your summer. The bike and run are both flat, fast courses. It's a 2.5 mile canoe, followed by a 5k run and concludes with a 10 mile bike. Participants can race with a partner or as a solo, either way you'll have something to brag about when you finish. All finishers get a custom medal.


2 Person Team Entry includes the canoe rental, life vests and paddles.  Solo participants either bring your own kayak or paddleboard or make arrangements with Barefoot Canoe 937-698-4351 to have one brought for you on race day.

Proceeds benefit the Miamisburg Youth Scholarship Fund.

For 2-Person Team entries, do not use the Add Participant feature.  You will be prompted for your partner's information later in the registration process.

Collegiate Athletes in the MECTC Triathlon Conference 


What

The Mideast Collegiate Triathlon Conference contains the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. The goal of the MECTC is to foster the growth and competitiveness of the sport of triathlon at the collegiate level in the region. The MECTC outdoor race schedule spans from May to October, with the conference championship in early September. Teams and individuals compete in these races for their standing in the conference omnium as well as bragging rights. Bring your team to compete for glory! This race is a MECTC Triathlon Conference Event. 


Who

Any individuals entering, are currently in or just graduated from college or grad school

Awards

Award plaques for the 3 fastest Males and Females Overall in this race

Team trophy for the Top Male Team, Female Team and Mixed Male/Female Team in this race

All-male teams will score the 5 fastest male finishers

All-female teams will score the 5 fastest female finishers

Mixed gender teams will score the first 2 fastest female finishers first, then will score the remaining 3 fastest finishers of any gender.

Teams: Individuals entering the race can choose to race on a team of their choice. They will enter their team name at registration. Individuals cannot compete for more than 1 team. Teams will consist of at least 5 members and can be all male, all female or a mix of male and females. Mixed teams must include at least 2 females on the team.


Scoring Points

All team scoring will be determined by comparing racers against only their same gender competitors; females will be scored by how they race against other females and males against males. When the team scores are determined, the first male and first female to cross the finish line receive 1 point for their team score, the second male racer and female racer to cross the finish line receives 2 points for their team score and so on. The lowest team score wins. In the case of a tie, the fastest combined team time based on the total time of all the racers will determine the winner.


Details

There will be a separate wave for all collegiate athletes male and female, but will be competing alongside other athletes, as there are other races on course that day.

You must be a USAT member to compete in this race.

Athletes will swim in open water, bike on roads not closed to traffic, and run on roads that are either closed or have limited traffic. There will be EMS on site, along with safety personnel from local law enforcement.

What

This is a regional championship for individuals and teams in the mideast. High School athletes can compete against one another for the title of Mideast Regional Champion. High School athletes will compete alongside other athletes as they compete for individual and team glory.

Any individuals between the USAT ages of 13 and 19 who will be entering, are currently in or just graduated from high school
